Performing Songwriters
From December 2000 to June 2014 Songwriter’s Beat and Valerie Ghent featured over 400 performing songwriters at our monthly acoustic concert series. Valerie also created through Songwriter’s Beat an annual summer songwriter festival; special themed songwriter nights including Political Songs of Change, Only Love Songs, Songs of Peace and more; a Songwriting Contest; and hosted many fundraisers for causes including 9/11 relief, breast cancer research, 9/11 family groups, and disaster relief for those impacted by hurricanes.
The hundreds of artists’ names below are a testament to the creativity in Greenwich Village and the longevity of Songwriter’s Beat – our thanks and gratitude to the hundreds of songwriters who graced our stages over the years.
